POS- (Point Of Service)
POS Plans (Point Of Service) This is the newest form of medical insurance. It combines many of the cost-reduction features of an HMO with the option to choose from the insurer's PPO network or any out-of-network physician. If you use one of the HMO physicians you pay only a flat dollar copayment for all services provided, no deductible, no copay percentage. If you choose to see a Physician other than a PCP but still within the insurer's network the PPO plan benefit above is applicable. This plan is extremely flexible and the monthly premiums are usually between a HMO and PPO.
